Michael joined Xellia as Chief Executive Officer in October 2023, bringing extensive global experience from the anti-infective industry. He previously worked in consultancy and FMCG's before he became part of the pharmaceutical industry where he served as Head of Global B2B at Sandoz and Country President for Novartis in Austria.

He leads with a clear conviction: ownership drives results. Guided by the belief that “a manager never runs,” Michael steps forward when it matters - setting direction, taking responsibility, and ensuring follow-through. He is equally focused on enabling others, creating clarity and trust for people to perform at their best.

An optimist by nature, Michael brings a “glass half full” mindset to complex challenges, seeing opportunity where others see constraints. He champions the value “Own it,” fostering a culture of accountability, empowerment, and impact.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys skiing to reset.

Michael holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and a Master’s in Marketing and Economics from the University of Basel, Switzerland.
