Sustainability Update
Responsibility in Every Phase: Status on Our Energy and Climate Audit
At Xellia Pharmaceuticals, we are committed to taking active responsibility for the green transition—even as our operational footprint evolves. In line with our ongoing focus on reducing energy consumption and minimizing our carbon footprint, we have completed the statutory energy and climate audit for our manufacturing site in Copenhagen.
The climate audit report, which is publicly accessible via the Danish Energy Agency (Energistyrelsen), reflects our current strategic transition. As we have initiated a gradual phase-out and eventual closure of our antibiotics manufacturing site in Copenhagen, it has been crucial for us to identify sustainability initiatives that remain viable within the site's remaining operational lifespan.
Through the audit, one specific and financially viable CO₂-reducing project was identified. Due to the site's limited timeline, this was the sole initiative that met both the commercial and environmental sustainability criteria for recommendation. We are pleased to confirm that this project has already been fully implemented.
Even as we navigate the controlled phase-out of our Copenhagen operations, we remain dedicated to optimizing our resource consumption and minimizing our environmental impact until our very last day of operation.
